Grade A (gourmet) pods are moist, oily and flexible with high moisture content — ideal for kitchens. They bend without snapping, leave a slight oil sheen on your fingers, and are heavy with black seed "caviar." We sell only Grade A.
Both grow on the same equatorial belt and share the same species, Vanilla planifolia. Ugandan beans are naturally high in vanillin with a bold, chocolatey profile — and because we import direct from farmer cooperatives without the famous-name markup, you get the same class of bean at an honest price.
Every batch carries a lot code and harvest date — printed on the tag of every pouch. Try our bend test on arrival: a fresh pod wraps around your finger without cracking. If yours ever snaps, we'll replace it (see below).
Keep pods in their resealed pouch or an airtight container, away from light and heat — a cupboard is perfect. Never refrigerate: condensation encourages mould. Stored well, Grade A pods stay supple for months. If pods ever feel dry, wrap them in a lightly damp cloth overnight to revive.
Yes — professional kitchens (cafés, bakeries, gelato shops, restaurants, home-baking businesses) can request a free 10g sample (3–4 pods) to test in their own recipes before spending anything. Request yours here.
If your pods arrive damaged, dried out, or below the Grade A standard we promise, message us on WhatsApp within 48 hours with a photo and we'll replace the pouch free of charge. Simple as that.
